When I was visiting my family in California over the holidays, I happened to drive by a local cemetery on Christmas Day. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the glittering boughs of Christmas trees – dozens of them, spread throughout the sprawling, grassy lot. People clustered around some of the decorated graves, quietly sharing the holiday with their deceased loved ones.
When I returned later with my camera, many of the trees had been blown over by the Santa Ana winds, rendering the festive scene much more desolate.
Thanks for looking, and best wishes for the new year!
