Much of the criticism directed at the Occupy Movement has focused on protesters’ lack of clear objectives. However, for many people of faith in Washington, D.C., these goals are as bright as day: social and economic justice, and equal support for human beings, regardless of circumstance. At the beginning of the movement, Occupy Church provided spiritual sustenance to protesters and served as a peacekeeping force in the camps. It later became its own ecumenical movement seeking to revive social justice practices specifically within the Christian tradition.
